This is my FAVORITE bakery! My family and I moved to Connecticut and make it a priority to ALWAYS stop here when we are in the neighborhood. Everything is so delicious! Everyone who works here is always so kind and pleasant. Just finished eating my Italian calzone from here and it never disappoints! Chefs kiss!!
What an amazing bakery. I was visiting Rhode Island and came across this place. Walking in you are immediately hit with the smell of home baking. The fresh smell of bread is wonderful. I had Christina help me and she was so amazingly nice and patient with me trying to decide what to get out of what seemed like a hundred choices. With her guidance I narrowed it down to lemon squares and blueberry and cheese danishes. It was such a treat to my tastebuds. I need to travel more. I would recommend anyone near Johnston Rhode Island to stop and enjoy their baked goods. Your tastebuds will forever be thankful for the work they put into these treats. I can’t wait to go back for more and try some of the fresh baked bread that they make right there in the store
Let me tell you about The Italian Bakery, The Bread Boss. I walked in there to pick up some desserts and I felt like I stepped into a little slice of Rome. The women behind the counter? Polite, welcoming, and helpful—like your favorite aunt who always makes sure you’re fed. Now, this place isn’t fancy, but who needs fancy? It’s got that simple, neighborhood charm that makes you feel right at home. Reminds me of those small bakeries I visited in Rome where the ambiance is all about the food and the friendly faces. We got the chocolate roll, Bismarck, lemon square, and Napoleon. Let me tell you, each one was fantastic. You know it’s good when you’re eating a lemon square and it makes you forget all your problems. I’d definitely recommend this place. It’s a gem. Go check it out!

A nice bakery with lots of choices. I got a steak and cheese canzone because they looked very good. I haven't tried it yet. I also got a cinnamon roll and cup cake. Both were delicious I would like a little more filling it the cinnamon roll. The service was quick and pleasant.
We went for RI Food Fights Cupcake Wars, one of the best experiences with service and food. We got the two cupcakes one vanilla and one chocolate that were moist and the frosting was smooth. As well as a strawberry shortcake and a creme puff.
So many choices and everything is delicious! I particularly love their calzones. The meatball one is amazing, and the spinach/cheese/pepperoni one is a win. I need to try the steak one! I love their variety of fresh danishes, and wide assortment of pastries. Cakes are always fantastic too, especially their strawberry shortcake… always a crowd favorite at a party. Honest review: I’m not a huge fan of their cookies. But with that said, there is so much to choose from. Highly recommended! Great service.. always friendly. Prices are average.
The $5 Strombolis were my favorite!!! I got an eggplant parm and a pepperoni but they had steak, ham, spinach, and so many other options! Also loved the biscotti!! Perfect texture!!! So many people make it way too hard. This was the hard and soft enough kind with ample flavor to boot, and the woman gave me a little extra wrapping because I want to ship some to my mom :-).
